Maniac Talk : Angel Hair, Ice Cream Castles, Dripping Faucets & Euler Fractals
Puzzles will be offered as opportunities for attendees to experience an "Aha!" along with some twists and turns that may induce head scratching. Connections will be made with evident angel hair, and ice cream castles, and a zoom into a zoo of chaotic creatures sometimes found inside leaky faucets. There'll be a hint that Leonhard Euler may have scooped Mandelbrot by some 200 years, in spying what some have called mathematical monsters. These have no known connection with the recent discovery of dynosaur footprints at Goddard, but allusion will be made to observed anthropocenic climate change.
