Maniac Talk: From Childhood to Stockholm and on to JWST, Stories from a Real Life

How do you get to Stockholm?  Bill Cosby said "I started out as a child."  I'll talk about special people and key events that made it possible, from the Hayden Planetarium and the Sputnik "crisis" to my failed thesis project, the COBE team, the re-work of the COBE satellite after the Challenger loss, and how we had to keep secrets while we were analyzing the data.  I'll describe the JWST and what makes it special and how it is possible to build, when it was totally impossible not so long ago.
